Documentation for SendIt Ver 1.92
Program & Documentation by: Jim Johnson
(C) Copyright 1991-1994
SendIt is being released as Shareware, which gives you a opportunity
to evaluate this program for a period of not more than 30 days. If
after the evaluation period you decide to keep and use this program
it is requested that you send in a $15 registration fee. After you
register your copy of this program, you will be able to receive free
updates to the program and documentation, and be eligible to recieve
discounted registration fee's on other programs and utilities I have
written.
You are granted a limited license you use this program without
registering it for the exaluation period of 14 days, you may copy
and distribute this program as long as the following conditions are
met:
1. The program and documentation must not be modified.
2. No-fee is charged for the program, though a small copying
fee, plus diskette cost are allowed if not more than $5.
SendIt is provided 'AS-IS' without warranty of any kind, either
expressed or implied and Jim Johnson shall not be held liable or
responsible for any damage or loss including but, not limited to,
lost data, damage to software or hardware, or the loss of wages,
that may arise out of the use of this program. By your continued
use of this program you are knowingly and willingly using this
program at YOUR OWN RISK and, you are agreeing to the terms and
conditions of this limited license.
The program SendIt is an alternate method of sending a text or a
document file to the screen or printer, and allows a few more of
the better liked features such as, page breaking, page numbering,
and automatic screen pause.
* Using SendIt
To start SendIt, just type in the program name and press return.
You will be prompted to enter the filename of the file you want
to read or print. You are allowed to use drive identifers and
paths in the filename prompt up to 128 characters. Some valid
examples follow:
C:\TEMP\filename.doc
C:\WORD\PERSONAL\TEXT\filename.doc
A:filename.doc
B:\filename.doc
* Screen
When sending a file to the screen, the output will automatically
be stopped when the screen is full, and there will be a flashing
red 'pause' centered in the bottom line of the screen. To resume
reading the file just press any key.
* Printer
When sending a file to the printer, you will be asked if you want
to page break the file. This in no way effects the file on the
disk, it is page broken upon printing.
You will also be asked if you want to number the pages.
If you answer yes to page breaking the file and yes to numbering
the pages your output will be about a 1/2 inch margin at the top
of the page, and a 1/2 inch margin at the bottom of the page. The
page number will be 1 line up from the last line on the page (or
on line 65). The program will form feed the last page to line 65
and print the page number even if the page only has 1 line of text
on it.
* Other Notes
You may want to place SendIt in a sub directory that is in your
path name, so you can call it up from anywhere on your system.
Upon registering your copy, if you don't like to current colors I
selected when writing the program, let me know your color selections
and I'll set up your registered copy that way. Also if you notice
something else you would liked changed your more then welcome to
ask, I'll do what I can to set up your registered copy the way
you would like it. I will not make any promises however, I have
to fit my programming around my family time, as well as work.
I will at your request, add onto the registered copy disk other
shareware and public domain programs I have written including the
documentation files, miscellaneous note, etc,...

his mind with some of the programs I've written as well as Beta
Testing SendIt!

Updates, Notes, Miscellaneous.

* Update - 12/28/91
I have changed the number of lines that are printed on
a page, to move the page number up a few lines. The
program will now print 55 lines of text per page, and
give a top margin of about 3/4 of an inch, the bottom
margin will be about 1 inch and the page number will be
placed about 1/2 an inch from the end of the page.
